Khnum, also known as Khnemu,was the Egyptian god who presided over the source of Nile-river.

He is the great potter who create children and their ka (soul) from the clay of the Nile. He is also the guardian of Hapi's caverns, the god of the inundation of the Nile.

He was said to be the consort of the gods HeqetSatisMehet-WeretMenhitNebtu and Neith, and the father of the god Heka, in some myths he is the father of RaSerketSobek, and Apep. He also was also connected to the goddess Anuket, who might have either been a consort or daughter of him.

The god was mainly worshiped in Elephantine, Esna and Aswan.
