Hathor was a major Egyptian goddess, who held domain over love, fertility, cattle, women, motherhood, health, music, and dance.
She was described as beautiful woman with a sun disc on he head, which led her often to be confused with the goddess Isis. She also sometimes depicted with the head of a cow, as a cow entirely. Her alter ego is Sekhmet, the goddess of war and violence.
Her father was the sun-god Ra and she was a consort to the god Horus, with whom she had a child named Ihy. She also sometimes seen as the consort of the gods Atum, Amun or Khonsu.
